Puyol Moderate Thought-thought to Play Again
Shanghai – Carles Puyol apparently still miss the thrill of action on the gridiron. Recently, the Spanish defender harbored a desire to return to play and MLS touted as a goal.
Puyol to retire at the end of the 2013/2014 season due to a series of knee injuries that make limited appearances in the last 2-3 years. Puyol later served as deputy director of sports Barcelona before withdrawing some time ago due to the FIFA transfer embargo case.
Now, after almost a year retired, 37-year-old Puyol apparently still miss to play ball again. This is expressed when attending the Laureus Sports XVI awarding ceremony in Shanghai, China, this week.
However Puyol also still think about it to return to play because his knee condition has yet to recover optimally. Puyol himself rumored to graze in one central MLS club this year.
“The opportunity is interesting but I have to discuss this with my wife and daughter to ask their opinion. We will soon decide when the time is right,” Puyol said as quoted by Football Espana.
“My desire now is to restore the condition of my knee. A few months ago I could not even get up the stairs, although his condition gradually improved,” said Puyol.
“But I will not deny the possibility of any kind. Correct if I want to become a coach one day,” said he.
