“Borussia Dortmund has been spending a lot of money to bring me and I want to pay their trust,” said Immobile as quoted Tuttomercatoweb.
Immobile recruited from Torino Dortmund last summer for a fee of 19 million euros. He was initially expected to fill the vacancy left by Robert Lewandowski.
However, Immobile so far not too bright and not always be a starter. He packed eight goals in 20 matches in all competitions with Die Borussen.
“Lewandowski is a world class striker, but I am not here to erase the memories of it. I came to contribute,” said Immobile.
“Will I go back to Italy? No, last summer I made a clear decision. In addition, I will not leave the team in difficulty,” he said.
Dortmund currently is being dropped. Despite qualifying for the Champions League last 16, they were crushed in the domestic competition. Juergen Klopp’s side have now finished second from bottom in the Bundesliga.
